Last sunny day of autumn?

I've been very busy the last few days with pickaxing roots out of an area we want to grass over, with hedgecutting and mowing and strimming - it's an ongoing business, I'm nowhere near finished, but I'll insert a batch of photos.

If the weather forecast is right today will have been the last sunny day for a while, a heavy band of rain is due tomorrow.  John was well enough today to drive us to Burton to join our Moira walking group for lunch, and I had two early birthday presents arrive today from my lovely brother and sister:

I've already had three of the scrumptious chocolates and the first of the Cornish cider bottles is cooling in the fridge for me to enjoy tonight!

Now some more from Tuesday evening after I finished mowing:

This lovely combination of yellow roses and purple lisianthus
was brought as a gift from friends Molly and Arnold.
