lots of pictures, not so many words

I treated myself!  Bought this Medinilla [years on my wish list] and Red Baron grasses and Physalis [Chinese lanterns] - the ducks helped me clear the site where I was going to plant the lanterns.

 

Everything being calm in the duck world at present our Gertie [in the middle of this picture] decided to come out of the enclosure and run with the others, leaving Dotty all on her own all day.

On Tuesday we started mega works in the field, I started clearing a large area which we want to grass over so we can mow it, opposite that site John and Sam have been gathering the logs from the pruned ash tree.

I broke the pick axe handle on Tuesday while leavering out a big blackthorn root and had to buy myself a new one [the yellow fibreglass handled one in this photo].

Autumn colours are showing everywhere, the weather is warm, and we still have loads of flowers:
