Honestly ....

... I did try to post an entry before another Saturday rolled in, but we changed ISPs and the previous one switched us off a day before the new one came in - so we were without internet connection for a day and a half.

The last couple of days have been dry with not too much frost in the mornings, but Wednesday was a wash-out with torrential rain  - the next two photos son't quite convey how heavy the downpours were [I got drenched on the walk from the conservatory, where I'd put together bunches of flowers for the Luncheon Club, back to the house].

Having managed to capture Honey's flight on video I tried on several days to just get a still shot of her in the air.  The first day I tried the photo was a blur, the next day I got only the tip of one wing seen very top left of the photo above, but on my third attempt I captured her just before she went down to land on the big pond:

Yesterday she gave a bravura performance, took off just outside the duck shed, soared straight over our plum and apple trees, hesitated in the air as if she realized she was on the wrong path, and turned sharp left to the big pond.  I stood there openmouthed, still can't believe we have a flying runner duck.

This morning I got her on video once more, she took a different route again:
