Annie will tell me off if I don't get a move on and post an entry quick - the last one was on Saturday, nearly a week ago .....
It's been a week of mixed weather, some rain, some shine, lots of wind. Since Monday I've been turning the kitchen upside down, emptying, cleaning, re-arranging all cupboards; only did a bit of gardening yesterday. So today, Friday, was the day, after a morning full of visitors we spent the afternoon in the garden with the ducks, here's a whole bunch of photos:

Not everyone was joining in the digging along the hedge,
these 5 were resting under my "caterpillar" opposite.

The "pretty little boy" [insert] from end July is getting a green/black head and neck now.

Well thank you Mutti! I have had such a busy week with work AAS and visitors that I haven't had a chance to complain ! What e flock , although with your ducks I want to say herd for some peculiar reason - ducks everywhere ! I really love the shot of all those bottoms in the hedge .... Reminiscent of the oive collectors !
ReplyDeleteWe have just had a wonderful visit from Nathan and his lovely wife Anna , only a night and a day unfortunately as they are in demand ! At home they have a Collie called Oscar who is a bit of a wuss like Ollie, who likes to chase butterflies, a donkey , hens , a rooster ,called Louis again another personalityrom the stories and a llama called Winston who likes to sit with the chickens and watch them !
Your busy week explains why I've not been told off; and how lovely that you had a chance to see Nathan again and meet his wife. Their collection of animals [in Canada?] sounds right up my street, too!
ReplyDeleteA "herd" of ducks is almost right - have you seen the video on youtube of the 5000 ducks being herded right through the streets and traffic in China? - At the beginning of the month the two top groups were hell bent to race down to the big pond on release[having first gobbled up breakfast] and stay there all day. Now, especially in the afternoons, you're liable to come across them at any turn in the garden, it's great. I too love that shot of all the bottoms in the hedge, all that's missing are the red [or grubby white?] flanelette pantaloons of the olive gatherers!
Sunny day today, rain forecast for tomorrow and beyond maybe, so we cleaned out and pressure washer cleaned all three huts first thing, gives them a chance to dry out.
Strictly tonight, Downton tomorrow, yippeeeh! XXXXX
