It's been another night of very harsh frosts, and all 15 ducks and drakes stayed down at the big pond which John had bashed open for them. I really wanted to film them trotting up to the house like they do several times a day and I had the camera ready. But no, they stopped down there until mid-afternoon when the sun was directly in my eyes - I don't get good results shooting straight into the sunlight.
So, as I wanted to post a little something in honour of Maria's birthday, Happy Birthday, darling!, I shall just put in a series of long distance shots from this morning, but starting off with a picture of the food shelters John has made to keep the grains and pellets dry [I've been begging him for those for years!]:
