No, the cold not's gone, if anything it's worse. Brother Helmut's suggestion that it takes two weeks to get over a cold, whether you see a doctor or not, looks as if it's proved right again!
The last few days here have been rather dull, yesterday and the day before it was even foggy half the day. But never mind, it was time to clean out the duck huts, and I started with the lower one right after letting the ducks out and feeding and watering them - John cleaned out the upper hut later.
The ducks were here, there and everywhere, and all of a sudden I saw that they had separated themselves into the two sleeping groups, the ones from the top were right out in the field and the ones from the lower hut were within the fenced enclosure. Funnily enough Decibels – from the upper group - was with Captain and his three girls ...... I wonder if she felt safer with them.

I saw the two waterhens running along the edge here as well.
Just as I'd taken this photo thinking how good the whole house will look when the extension has been painted white ...........
.......... I could see, out of the corner of my eye, how the water was boiling up at the left hand corner of the island fencing. Yes, you've guessed it, the frogs were busy with affairs of Spring:

They stood at the side of the pond for ages and ages complaining loudly!
I don't think they went back into the pond with the "monster" all day - and it's a quarter to five now!
When picking flowers for the luncheon tables yesterday morning I was delighted with how many buds were showing all over the garden, and I was particularly pleased with these:

[ Prunus cerasifera 'Trailblazer'/'Hollywood']
This plum tree had been on my wish list for years, and as I hadn't been able to get it in England I had one sent from Germany last year. John had planted it for me at the top of the orchard last autumn, and all the hard winter long I had worried myself sick that it had died - hence the great joy when I saw the buds. The blossom and fruit should look like this:
Oh yes, I did change the water in it!
As for the new build, the work that's being done now is not so obvious as before. On Monday and Tuesday the outside walls were rendered and the scaffolding taken down. Since then it's been inside work like laying the floor tiles, fixing window sills etc. These two photos show one of the lads cleaning up the windows after rendering. The spiral staircase is to be put up this coming Monday.

These are a few more photos I took in the garden today, St. Patrick's Day, showing that Spring is rally on it's way. [That's our re-planted Christmas tree from last year, top left, which is showing buds and tiny cones.]:

I had brought a bale of barley straw with me, and after stuffing an old pair of tights with the straw [the water is going green again] I threw it into the pond - PANIC! Everybody out of the pond protesting loudly:
