I wonder how my duck-keeping friends both in Germany and England are faring with the egg production? We've been presented with 19 starting 2.2., from the new girls I suspect - Hedda used to be the first every year, but there've been none in the bottom hut so far. They were only white eggs to start with, but since the 8th we've had a pale green one as well most days - a bit worrying is that the pale green eggs from yesterday and today had been pecked, seems there's a bit of rivalry going on there.
In honour of the day I cooked waffles [with 4 duck eggs!] this morning which have heart-shaped sections, and we all had some including the workmen ............... what an old romantic I am!
