Such weather!

With the book launch behind us I was so pleased to do some gardening this morning, I cut down the gunnera and filled the green bin with it.  1 big leaf escaped in the wind and drizzle and is still floating in the frog pond:

Then I put holes into a huge "muck bucket", covered the bottom with broken crockery. Then I filled it up with two wheelbarrow-loads of soil gathered from mole heaps and finally planted 25 mixed tulip bulbs - 15 red ones still need to be planted.
The bay tree had stood next to the owls, it had fallen and the container cracked, so I moved it into a bit of shelter.  The silver balls had to be rescued out of the pond, and I put some steel pins in behind to hopefully secure them and also around the feet of the black duck which had almost been bashed into the pond again.

The fierce storms of last night had brought down the last of the apples, I picked up all those I want to process and freeze, and then went and found my torn floor cloths fluttering in the lilac tree behind the house - I had left them to dry around the floor mop outside the sun lounge....

I managed to clean out and put fresh bedding into the duck hut just before the rain came down really heavily again, so I decided it was time to go in for lunch.

The book launch on Saturday which had been so, so long in the preparation went off beautifully in spite of the horrible weather.  Everything was great, attendance, food, drink, helpers, sales of books - the only disappointing thing was that there were problems with the cameras and the few photos we got out of it are of poor quality:

Even the attempt of the three editors of the book, Elaine, Rob and myself, to have some better pictures taken on Monday night in front of one of the exhibition boards, didn't go as we had hoped - the results are still fuzzy:

I'm hoping for some better pictures from another source!
