One week since ....

.... my birthday and I still haven't posted anything in here, so sorry, and I've still not sorted all my wonderful cards and presents.

I've had the most wonderful and spectacular celebrations thanks to my family and friends, from the bonfire party on Saturday [when the all-day endless seeming rain stopped just in time - somebody up there must like me] to the sleepover of 5 Boags and 4 Edwardses, to the Sunday meal at the King's Arms when Pearl joined us as well - she's not only my longest best friend, she's family.

I had lovely company from Thursday evening, Eleanor, Annie and Ollie, on Friday we were joined by Charlotte and Colin.  On Saturday Carl, Val, Sarah and Alfie joined in [Emm was stuck in Southampton], their friends Max, Ryan, Oli and Alfie's friend Lily, and Jason [bonfire expert], and my lovely friends Pat and Graham, Rob, Elaine with granddaughter Francesca and Fiona and Kevin .

I have just a few photos to show you, more will follow in time.

The ducks survived all the excitement well.  Looking at this photo I realize that 6 of my survivors were hatched here, in the oldest hut that John built.  Only Caramel [in the centre of this group] is from outside, from Seagrave.

This photo was taken a couple of days ago, in the late afternoon as the mist was gathering over the field.  It was more than misty this morning when I drove to Moreton Morell for the AGM of the Indian Runner Duck Association.  The fog, and the route I'd chosen, made me late for the meeting, but it was lovely to see my friends Chris and Mike Ashton again and their beautiful prize-winning birds - especially their brilliant African gander Dylan!
