The room above the spiral staircase, which was going to be my studio, is slowly taking shape. I was very proud of myself that I managed to move the computer and peripherals from the landing to the place you see in the photo above left.
The cupboards that were halfway up the stairs are now on the landing, adjoining the bookcases which Annie sorted for me so beautifully when she was here recently - lots still needs to be sorted, but I'm getting there!
The computer, desk and paraphernalia used to be under this window.
And finally, today, I've started to remove the broken and battered old fence panels below the house and planted the first 11 of 100 hazel sticks. They will make a hedge that lets the fierce winds through rather than bashing the fence panels down.
In the sunshine it looks as if Spring is on its way, the little winter Aconites I planted last year are giving a little splash of yellow until the daffodils come out. Note the huge collection of bags in the photo above left - soiled duck bedding waiting to be transported up the field to be burned ... it'll happen soon, honest!
I couldn't resist putting a little bunch of snowdrops inside the house, I get their beautiful scent every time I open the door to the downstairs loo:
The mallard pair still come to visit every day, as do the dozens of pheasants who all look very well fed on duck food!
I hope the moles will soon stop pockmarking the garden, although I've been glad of the fine soil they throw up when planting things.
I'm ashamed to see I have no photos of my ducks - I shall have to get the camera on them!
My patchwork wallhanging is nearing completion.
All the "flowers" are sewn together now, and
I'm in the process of stitching them to the backing.
