SNOW! and another catch-up

It was a magical sight yesterday morning, Friday 30th.  Fran and Alan, with what I've seen of your camera work, I'm sure you could have done something spectacular with that sky and those snow-laden trees - I just "clicked"!

It was quite a different view at the same time this morning, it was raining during my duck breakfast run and now it's turned to wet snow.

I was worried yesterday when I saw all that snow that we might have a repeat performance from the fox - as you can see, I keep a reminder on my computer screen - but all was well last night, we still have 14 ducks.

Last Saturday it was just Carl and his friend Jason doing the lumberjacking:

Had to smile when I saw Carl and I had taken similar shots (with shadow) one week apart.

Jason and Carl exhausted themselves to such an extent last Saturday that they now need to rest for about three weeks .....................

Val and Sarah came in the afternoon and joined us for dinner.  Afterwards Sarah had a go on the tractor mower, see below.  She had had her first real driving lesson earlier that day and came back with the announcement "I'm a sick driver!"  -  I've been told that in today's parlance "sick" means very, very good!

Val, myself and Alfie striding out to inspect the work Carl and Jason had done.

Did I post before - I can't remember - that my lovely friend Pam in Phoenix had sent me a gorgeous basket of flowers on 4th January?  Well, the flowers and greenery faded eventually and I replaced them with some I found in the garden [yes, there were some roses, too!] and a few "survivors" from other bunches.  I had so many beautiful bunches of flowers sent and given me after John's funeral, and when they faded I grouped the freshest ones into the vase below:
