Is Spring on its way?

Certain Spring-like feelings seem to have awakened in our duck community, and their activities have expanded somewhat away from the big pond to other parts of the garden, even into the the bit near the road where they haven't been for months.  I got a few pictures of them rooting around in the orchard and how some of them were nestling under a conifer on the heather island:

Honey appeared to have given up flying entirely for some days, every morning she walked all the way to the big pond in her awkward manner - I thought that maybe she felt too heavy with a few eggs on board *lol*. This morning, however, she flew again.

When I took the dry food down to the bottom feeding station yesterday I got a few photos of Honey and Purdy coming up together, soon joined by others.  In the background you can see Anke having a snooze outside her hut.

This morning there were FIVE eggs in Dotty's hut, which meant that every one of the ducks in there had laid and also that no drakes are required to make the ducks lay [and maybe the five have some sort of competition?].  There are 7 in the duck shed with 3 drakes, and so far the most we've had were 2 eggs in the mornings, it just shows that every duck has its own rhythm for egg laying.
