Just finishing the duck run this morning I suddenly saw an egg lying next to the greenhouse where Dotty sits - so I had to fetch the camera, quick, before letting the bunch out. I don't think this was her first egg this year as I've found 3 or 4 eggs in her hut on several days this February - we've had 51 altogether so far!
You can see in the photo on the right that I cut a little hole in the fence so Dotty would have a short-cut to the big pond if she took it. I only did that yesterday, so we'll see. Dotty seems a lot livelier the last couple of days, she can be seen out of the water more frequently, and this morning she was the FIRST out of the hut - she must have had pole position when I took out the sliding door:
Honey slept in the duck shed last night. I've noticed that she's calmed down a bit the last few days, she doesn't fly off straight away from the shed any more but walks to the edge of the garage before taking off:
