... from 27th/28th September which my brother Gerd sent, he took these from the road:
What Gerd didn't see were these ceps which were growing behind the birch on the left of the picture above. I saw them for the first time when I went to the Post Office last Tuesday, we never had them before in 15 years here - I've not been brave enough to fry them up and eat them yet...
I love this photo Gerd took of the big field. The young tree plantation can be seen in the background.
Picking flowers for Maria to take home. I see my curls have gone again - I had carefully curled my hair in the morning in honour of the occasion, as you can see in the photo below where I'm showing off my new sheep slippers and some of my goodies - I got LOTS of chocolates!

Because Sunday was such a nice and sunny day I took some photos in the garden, in the morning as well as in the afternoon:
I just LOVE my Nicotiana Sylvestris and the Miscanthus grasses.
When John went to Church about half past 5 he realized we'd both forgotten to put the grains out for the ducks which we normally do at lunchtime. No wonder that all 16 of them had been making their presence felt around the house for some time!
I put the food out right away, of course, and ducks and drakes filled their crops eagerly. After putting down Dotty's container I crouched down next to her hut in the hope of getting a couple of nice photos of her. Several times she went to the flat bit of the pond as if to come out, but turned back every time when she saw me:
I left her alone then and went to take photos of the rest of them who were just running past the house:
I suddenly heard a peck, peck, pecking noise behind me, and YES, Dotty had got out of the pond very quickly and was tucking into her food before returning to the pond. She's doing so well, I'm delighted.
Maria's "blue" Colchicums are continuing to make a show in their funny containers, and the little crab apples "Red Sentinel" are getting ready for Christmas ....
and some which I took yesterday.
