It's very cold

Yesterday it was so cold and slippery icy that I put down wood mulch and straw around the food areas near all three huts, and in the afternoon - I guess after all the food at the bottom had gone - all ducks and drakes stayed near the   two top huts.  My shots into the sun weren't very good:
Today it's been even colder, ponds and water containers froze again during the day.  I took some more photos when I returned from Luncheon Club duty.  On the way to and from Ibstock I'd been awed by how beautiful all the frosted trees along the road looked, like in this photo which Michael or Pine took:

Those in our garden don't look anything like as magical, but I'll put this photo in anyway:

You can see in the photos above how ducks and drakes found themselves som ice~ and snow-free spots to dob down, and they all volunteered to go to bed early.  Captain and Anke even went in with the 13 in the shed, the nearest hut, but Candy was too frightened to go into a strange hut.  So I accompanied those 3 on their long and slow walk to the bottom hut - those poor paddle feet!
