I suddenly noticed that some of the 13 group had gone into the enclosure, that's Bless and Georgie standing between the two trees in the photo above, and then all 13 were in the field while Captain and his 2 girls certainly felt pushed to one side - the 3 are top right in the picture below while it's the group of 11 swimming in THEIR pond below that:
Going back to the house at teatime I could see that John had finished laying all the slabs in the conservatory and was using up his last bits of mortar at the garage wall:

The first thing I saw when I got up yesterday morning were 21, yes, TWENTY ONE, jackdaws searching for spilled grains:


When I went into the garden after luncheon duty yesterday afternoon all 27 ducks and drakes were swimming in the big pond. I was keen to get a photo of that, but as I'd come with a big red bowl full of "goodies" they came storming out of the pond before I had the camera ready. I still don't have a photo of all 27 in the big pond because they insisted on staying in the field while I was there:
