beech hedge cut

There was an interruption yesterday morning when friends Graham and Pat turned up with a bag full of cucumbers for the ducks [which caused ructions among them, fighting over the best bits!], but I managed to cut the hedge by the road into some kind of shape.  It's not as straight as I want it yet, but that'll probably come next time.

2 composite photos from the road side and from inside, before and after.

I'm still busy weeding in the strip behind the hedge, and this morning I cut the very mossy grass.  Lots to do still, but slowly slowly there's some shape coming into the front garden.

Yesterday morning I found a dead mole lying not far from the tin bath below the frog pond, this was before I let the ducks out.  As the mole still looked 'fresh' and there was a newly erupted hill where the arrow is pointing I assume neighbour's cat Lucy is to blame for this.

I only took 2 more photos yesterday, these two of the 13 having a rest after polishing off the cucumber Graham had given them:

Tuts is doing a little dance here on the right.
