2 groups together

Yesterday afternoon I couldn't see the group of youngsters anywhere in the garden, and because I knew they'd recently ventured far into the field I walked right to the donkey shelter to drive them back.  They weren't there, either.  I didn't spot them until I came back into the garden, and the group were sleeping in front of Captain's enclosure, at the place where we usually go in.

Well, if these two groups had got to know each other through the fence so to speak I decided to open a section of the fence this morning and see what happened.
I went down with the camera at lunch time, yep, all 11 in the big pond ............. and the three residents outside!  Captain was making a half-hearted attempt to chase one or two of them, but he was outnumbered and gave up.

I had half expected the 13-group to be amongst them, but no, they were sleeping near the frog pond:

After lunch I thought it might be wise to take some extra food to the big pond, the small amount for the 3 residents wouldn't have lasted long with 14 down there  -  yes, it was necessary!  Billie-Jean, Gertie and the 9 "kids" looked very happy in their new surroundings ..............

... but Captain and his 2 girls looked at a loss as to what to do about the invasion:

In the end they threw caution to the winds and just joined the 11 in the pond.

The 13 were still keeping out of it by the ditch, but I'm sure it won't be too long before they go into the big pond as well  -  it won't seem so big then with 27 in it, and the fights that will no doubt happen .........
