for those of you who can't get enough of duckling photos ...

Just heard the great news from Colin that the 15cm growth removed from their lovely choc labrador Ollie was NOT cancerous, the lovely dog can recover from his serious op now and Annie, Colin and the girls can breathe again, fantastic news!

I spent well over an hour this afternoon sitting at the side of the little pond, watching duckling TV and taking photos and little films:

The big one on the right you thought was a lot like Jedda, Annie, is frequently making the kind of coughing noises HeddaJedda used to make when I thought he was a girl!  He's a drake, I bet.

What shall we call these, two little whacks?

Where you can see Gertie in the background of this picture, under the big cherry tree, both the adults duck were rooting around shortly before this photo was taken.  Obviously the "mummies" felt safe enough to leave the supervision of the little ones to me.  Then one of them made a noise, and mummy Billie FLEW the 5 metres to the pond and took up a position ready to fight anyone threatening her kids!

Just one photo of several of the 13 - in the background you can see the Kindergarten enclosure [and if you use a magnifying glass you can also see a few of the little ducklings] ...

..... and to finish for today:
Pine and Michael, the 2 "Elfe" roses you sent me are flowering [as are some of the others you sent, will make photos!].  I just had to fetch a few blooms inside.
