5.3.12 Sunny Monday morning

Yesterday was blanketed by rain, although it did brighten up a bit in the afternoon only to turn to rain again at duck bedtime.  So it was a lovely surprise to see the sun this morning, and I went armed with the camera to take pictures of the crocuses that had popped up in the field behind the bottom hut:

I'd planted a few bulbs in front of the bushes some years ago and they'd spread.  They hadn't opened yet when I took photos - it was a bit frosty this morning and the sun hadn't warmed them yet.

Hedda, Candida and Anke were having a little preening session,

while Captain and Lane were still concerned with their breakfast:

As I went back into the house to warm my partially frozen fingers our 10 youngsters came nosying up to the door of the sun room again as they've done quite often recently [not sure if they remember their early days in there...], but they turned tail as soon as they saw me with the camera:

Yesterday was a WET WET WET day, I took some photos through upstairs windows, our 10 found the new muddy river irresistible:

They were so excited by all this wet that they were running all over the place, delighted with the delicacies they found which we can only guess at.  Their searches and finds unfortunately drove them to places we considered too dangerous, like the top of our drive, and both John and I had to brave the soaking rain several times to stop them from crossing the road, it was like trying to guard a barrel load of monkeys!

The 5 at the bottom came up to the dividing fence several times - I only took photos while sitting in my comfortable chair in the sun room ...
