We hadn't had a light green one so far, all those we had before [from Praline, I suspect, because of a dark brown feather stuck to one of them] were white "beginner" eggs, smaller than normal. It'll be interesting to see if Hedda will start laying soon, she always used to be the first .....
Talking about Hedda, our little Jake-the-peg, yesterday lunchtime John suddenly shouted "Hedda is up here!". Sure enough, all 15 were in front of the house and near the food trough. We found out later that the wind had blown the cover over the food down by the big pond, their usual source of grain. At least they all seem to know where else they can get their wheat when that happens.
I quickly got the camera for a little video of Hedda limping away - she did quite well, I thought. My filming was not very good, in the excitement I wafted the camera around a lot, but I will post the linke in here in a moment when it's finished uploading to YouTube.

I had another great surprise this morning, a gorgeous bunch of flowers was delivered from niece Uschi and her husband Jochen, with a note saying 'Thinking of you'. It's quite overwhelming - only yesterday stepdaughter Julie came with a card, flowers and wine to thank me for the jumper I knitted for her; so many flowers - I'm being spoiled again!

The choice of colours and flowers in this bunch is fantastic, I think, just beautiful.
