Wednesday before Christmas

I found out yesterday I had a "ducky" friend in America [Arizona] for years!  She missed seeing the entries when http://www.ght17.co.uk was no longer accessible, and eventually traced me through our Indian Runner Duck Association.  Welcome to the blog, Pam!  Since you sent me two photos of your beautiful runners I'll show them off for you in here.  They have great names, too, what a shame "Nora Batty" is no longer with you!

Vincenzo, Sonja (both silver), Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (black), Sable (brown), Lilly and Rosemary (both fawn and whites)

I had another nice surprise yesterday.  John knocked at the window and showed me something in his hand .................................
When I saw it was the little wren he'd often seen in the greenhouses I had to rush off quick and find a camera.  The little thing seemed totally unperturbed, and when John let it go it flew onto the porch roof and from there into the big cherry tree where it was joined by another wren - we assume it was its mate which we had heard calling all the time.

When I turned around to go back into the house I saw our ten youngsters had come up to the frog pond:

That's technicolour Joseph kicking up the water!
