for armistice day and remembrance
I couldn't pass up a chance of writing on such a date, could I, on the 11th day of the 11th month in the year 11 - brilliant. What's more it beats my my recently normal Saturday contributions by one day.
Brother Helmut would have loved it, the number 11 was special to him.
I took the camera with me when I went to clean out the hut by the big pond. All 15 were gathered there, the boys showing off to each other by rising out of the water "look how big I am", and then everyone - save Hedda - came out of the water and went exploring.
I found it very touching how Captain was very reluctant to go off with the others, then turned around, went back into the pond and started nibbling Hedda's head - see last three photos:
