Before I do, though, I'd like to show pictures of the ducklings' first time outside in the sunshine. I restricted their time outside to 20 minutes, thought that was enough for starters.
When John was setting up the little enclosure he found a little hedgehog just outside the garage, look:

I carried them out in their "living room drawer", and at first they were very unsure of themselves. Then they started to pick up leaves and fight over them, and eventually their roasting pan "pond" was conquered.
Oh, what a problem I'm having sorting out 'just a few' photos! Those that Annie took with Charlie's camera were particularly impressive, so clear, wow! Just look at these water droplets [trying to clean some of the mashed potato dried on their heads]:

They found Elle's shoes fascinating, especially the laces:

Outside you can just see the pallet of natural stone which the builders will use this coming week [hopefully!] for the path around the sun lounge.

I just love this photo of Elle and the ducklings.

Annie not el ! Brilliant ! Why don't we live half an hour away ?! So unfair xxx
ReplyDeleteStill Annie ! Look at your title picture - two of the girls have green bills so two possibilities for mother of your mini pretty green beak !
ReplyDeleteYes, Annie, that's Fanny[I shall have to spell her Phany or you'll remind me of the 'fa'!] and Anabelle. As our pretty green billed and ~ footed duckling was among the first 5 out [eggs from 12.,13.14.5. plus 2 black ones from Mel]I suspect Fanny - we wanted so much to preserve some of the genes from the top lot. But there's quite a bit of green in the Welsh girls' beaks, and as the markings can change over time - here's hoping! X
