Another P&G Day!

My fabulous friends Pat and Graham have done an incredible amount of work again today, between us we managed to get all the old cupboards off the walls in the garage and burn all old doors and bits of wood stashed in so many corners.  This time I managed to get just a few photos of the two in action {the ducks tried to keep out of our way and slept a lot}:

Catching up on the last three days now, the weather has continued sunny, if a little chilly for June.

I discovered something pretty in front of the sun lounge I'd completely forgotten about, a little gladiolus byzantinus.

On Monday morning there was a fox in the trap - unfortunately it was a youngster.  The trap has been re-baited and I hope that one of the three fully grown ones I've seen will go in.

Returning to the garage with the ride-on mower I was amazed to see broken-leg-Dotty come out of the frog pond, where the other 7 have been spending quite a bit of time recently [Ben still avoids going into the water, I wonder if recovering from the fox bite has anything to do with it.].

While Dotty was out of the duck run I took my chance and emptied the little pond in there, one day before my 2-week deadline was up.  It was a lot easier than last time, there was no black slurry, just a lot of green water, and just 4 buckets full emptied what the pump left at the bottom.  I have now put a "doughnut" of barley straw into the fresh water to help stop the algae developing.

The tomatoes donated by Graham are showing the first flowers!

Yesterday I tackled the area behind the fish pond which has remains of the ancient floors from the cottages that used to stand here.  I'm not quite finished, because instead I took a trip to the garden centre and treated myself to some very brightly coloured plants, and then took two walks with my neighbour Fiona, once around my garden and fields and then around hers, and there were two beautiful plants in Fi's garden I hadn't seen before:

  2. I used to have that experience of my comments being eaten, got growlingly angry and then stopped commenting. --- Carrying on with the "saintly" theme, I am indeed blessed both with my close friends and my children! XXXX
