Dotty is out of the fruit cage

I thought her recovering leg wasn't getting enough exercise in her little pool, so on Monday I cleaned out the small pond inside the old chicken run, bought and fixed up a camping ground sheet above it to protect from hot sun and too much rain, and that is Dotty's new home now.  She has slept in the hut there the last three nights with Gertie and Vera for company.  Her leg is far from well, she limps heavily and swims leaning to the right [must be because she spent so many weeks lying on her right side because of those wires], but she has perked up in the company and eats well.

Dotty's little pool I sunk into the part shade under the buckthorn,
where it'll come into use as a large drinking bowl, I hope.


On a very hot day [yesterday was totally washed out with constant rain, Dotty got soaked] all ducks and drakes sought the shade - Tuts, below, found his own little place:
