Pearl came to visit

I finally managed to persuade my wonderful friend of over 50 years to come and stay with me for a couple of days.  As usual, she was going to do a disappearing act over her birthday (16.8.), she does not like all the attention, so when I promised NOT to give her presents or cards, NOT bake her a cake, she agreed to 'disappear' at White Gables for her birthday  -  and this was her happy occupation over two days: weeding my overgrown raspberry and big diamond bed:
