For the third night running extremely heavy rain was bashing against the windows, so I went to bed fairly early around half past 10 to feel cosy. Something woke me at 20 to midnight. and slowly I became aware of noises outside, not really cries or barks, more like yowling sounds, they sounded very close. I jumped out of bed and stood at the window, and the security light came on and a fox ran past the garage and into the garden. It had come from the direction of the Post Office - or the duck enclosure. I have often said I don't mind foxes roaming at night as long as they leave my ducks alone in the daytime, but the sighting disturbed me very much, conjuring up images I'd rather forget.
Tossing and turning for almost two hours I finally gave up and made myself a cup of tea and am now sitting here writing this blog entry.
I've had such a lovely Sunday in the company of Carl and his family and friends Jason and Ryan and his family. The lads did an enormous amount of work morning and afternoon, clearing the donkey shelter away and the twisted trees behind it. I shall go out and take photos tomorrow if rain allows, for now I've pinched some of those that Carl posted on Facebook.
First, before and after:

I love this one of Carl giving young Oli a ride - oh, and below, the garage is filling up again!
