Gardening ducks

This morning, Saturday 11th, I was still able to do a bit of weeding before the showers arrived at lunchtime which are still going strong.  My new champion garden helper Dash kept right close even when all the others had found different occupations:

                             

The other news is that our Gertie No.2 has decided she wants to breed, first noticed on Wednesday that she was spending nearly all day in the nest box.  I suppose having been "auntie" to last year's hatch she wanted to have a go herself.  Thankfully Billie-Jean hasn't felt the urge this year.

No, I haven't taken a picture of Gertie in the nest box, I thought I was upsetting her enough [she complains loudly] by removing the eggs every morning and chasing her off the nest three times a day!
