The 3 groups of ducks and drakes have settled themselves, not as I'd envisaged, but as it's mainly peaceful during the days and all go into their respective huts easily at night I don't interfere any more. So Captain and his 2 remain separated by a bit of fencing around the big pond [which turned green again after just a few days, must put some barley straw in!], the three other drakes all sleep in the duck shed with 8 ducks and the remaining 5 ducks sleep on their own in the oldest hut that John built.
A turn to colder weather is forecast for this weekend with possible frosts on Friday and Saturday nights - and the garden is only now breaking out into leaf and blossom! - so to cheer myself up I'll put in a load of pictures from last weekend which was SUNNY!
I started weeding some patches of the flower beds last week and found some very willing helpers, young Dash from last year's hatch is keenest, she comes as close to me as Anabelle used to.
Somebody has to keep their eyes open when all others are sleeping, even if it's only the stone owl ...
