post birthday ..... very much later ...

Wanted to post at least a very big THANK YOU to all you lovely people who sent and brought me cards, cyber greetings, presents galore, flowers ........... all far too numerous to mention one by one.  I hugely enjoyed the actual day, the visit of Annie, Eleanor and Emmeline and on Saturday 27th the almost complete family get-together [Colin, Charlotte and Sam were missing] at my favourite restaurant in Moira where the food was brilliant as ever.  Annie prettified this photo of me tucking into dessert and coffee:

Just before we drove to Moira last Saturday Annie took this picture of the finished gingerbread house that's going to be a raffle price at the Army Arts Society Exhibition [Annie currently holds the post of Chairman].  Eleanor helped, the decorated the left roof half and made the pointy hat for the with - I'd only given her a scarf!

It was inevitable, I suppose, the nasty cold John has been suffering from since last Wednesday has started to get a grip on me.  We're supposed to be walking with the Moira Group today but I can't say I feel like it we'll see.

The fabulous birthday bouquet from niece Uschi and Jochen which arrived last Wednesday along with Gerd and Maria's second huge parcel of German goodies is still looking fabulous more than a week later:

A joyous announcement: we've had the first "Learner" egg from one of this year's young ducks:

It's the small one in front - and we're STILL getting one egg
out of each of the huts each day, it's been a right funny year ....

To finish for today, who can identify this funny bug we had in the bathroom [about an inch long]:
