I've noticed for some time now that Bless does court the attentions of some of the boys by flattening herself very invitingly .... even in that blue "bath" which is barely big enough to hold just one of them. I got some of it on camera this morning, before the rain started:
No, they don't manage any mating in that blue container; after a while they all gave up and decided to head for the big pond. As I was in the way with my camera at the ready they decided to skirt around me, which took them past the house and into the direction of the frog pond - where they had not been since I cleaned and refilled it on 12th September [first the pump and hose lying there scared them, and then the two "monsters" of barley straw swimming in it]. With me walking behind them taking pictures they actually took courage, or fright, and went into the pond ....... and now, 3 hours later, they're still there!
Remember how I thought recently that multi-coloured Joseph's head was turning black? That certainly seems to be the case:
