I had cards and presents from both my wonderful children - none of them necessary, of course, but absolutely delightful all the same.
My Mothering Sunday started early, actually, on Friday, right in the middle of worrying about how Morf was getting on a beautiful Mother's Day gift was delivered from Annie, and it cheered me up no end:
Two of the branches of this lovely Calamondine tree were so heavily laden with fruit that they'd dropped off during transport. I counted 20 that had fallen off, and rather than letting them go to waste I ate one [I love sour things!] and made the rest into marmalde. But don't worry, Annie, there are plenty more little fruit growing on the tree.

And today my day was brightened up by a visit from Carl, who also did some computer wizardry and enabled John to play the "Angry Birds" game that Annie and the girls had introduced him to on their last visit - very addictive John found it! Of course he can do lots of other things with the refurbished 'ipod touch' I bought him a little while ago; I am too computer-illiterate to have set it up for him, so thank heaven for clever sons!
The last 3 days John and I have been very busy painting the sun lounge, the colour 'crushed almond' on the ceiling and one wall, white around the windows, varnished the skirting boards and gave the floor a scrub - it's beginning to look very nice and I shall start moving some furniture and plants in again.
You're right Mum, the floor does look great when wet!
